ROMs are released for all variants of Galaxy S III. A unique addition to the family comes in the form of WICKED ROM. The name says it all, and it’s as impressive as it can get. The credit for the development goes to XDA Developers member evil1art. Android 4.1.1 is the base of this ROM. There’s support for OTA and boot animation. Many tweaks such as network, data and ad blocking have been added. It’s deodexed as well. This is one release you won’t want to miss out on. It’s available for T-Mobile variant.
There are few things you need to consider before you start with the guide. The device to be used for the tutorial, as mentioned above, is the T-Mobile variant of the S3, model number SGH-T999. Charging the device would save the process in case the device power drops. Security softwares can be disabled and the important data can be backed up for later restoration. Step 2: Download the WICKED JB ROM into any folder on the PC (Windows). Afterwards, transfer this file by copying and pasting it to the internal SD card of the phone.
Step 3: Shut power of your S3, and reboot while holding Home key, Volume Up key as well as the Power key until there’s light on the display. This means you’ll be in recovery mode, where scrolling is applicable with Volume keys while selection can be done by tapping Power.
Step 4: Follow the steps to create a backup nandroid of the existing installed ROM.
Step 5: Wipe everything by selecting wipe data/factory reset and prompting Yes. Next, select wipe cache partition and go for Yes. In the end, select Advanced > wipe Dalvik cache and hit Yes.
Step 6: Flash the ROM for this tutorial. To do so, go for install zip file from internal card > choose zip file from internal card. After locating the .zip file, go for selection and prompt by selecting Yes.
Step 7: Head back to the main menu and prompt Reboot system now. Be patient for few minutes until the device reboots.
