There isn’t much development going on for tablets, but XDA Developers member Dees_Troy wants to change that. He has lately released TWRP, a custom recovery, for Galaxy Note 10.1 GT-N8013. This isn’t perfect though, as some users have reported problems with installation and usage.
However, others have been able to install it successfully. If you want to try it out, there are a few things to note. The instructions that you’ll see are only for Galaxy Note 10.1 model number GT-N8013, and may damage other models if applied on them. USB Debugging should be enabled on your device, and its battery should be charged at a proper level. Disable any security softwares on your computer that prevent the installation of files. Make sure the bootloader of the device is unlocked. Safe vault the important files. The most important thing to note that this guide is to be followed at your own risk, as we won’t pay any damages if there’s an unfortunate outcome.
There are two ways you can proceed with the installation; through GooManager or Odin.
TWRP recovery flash through Odin
Step 1: Download Odin v3.04 and TWRP recovery.
Step 2: Extract the Odin downloaded file to any folder on the PC.
Step 3: Turn off the device and boot into Download Mode by holding down Power and Volume – button until a Warning sign appears on the screen. At this point, press Volume +.
Step 4: The folder where you extracted Odin in step 2, go to it and find .exe Odin file. Double click to launch Odin.
Step 5: Connect the device to the computer through a USB cable.
Step 6: Select the PDA button in Odin and choose .tar.md5 file. Leave everything else unchanged.
Step 7: Select the Start button to begin the installation process. When the Odin displays a PASS message, unplug your tablet.
Step 8: For testing, switch off the device and hold Power and Volume + for a while. Release the Power button when the Samsung logo flashes on the screen after the first time and continue holding Volume + until menu appears.
TWRP recovery flash through GooManager
Step 1: Download GooManager.
Step 2: Install and Open it on your tablet.
Step 3: Select the Menu button in the application. Next, select Install OpenRecoveryScript followed by Yes.
Step 4: Allow for verification of the code name and prompt the action.
