We have covered a lot of guides for the LG Nexus 4 E960 Mako device. Among them, there were a few ways to root the phone as well. However, we wouldn’t want you to miss out on Chainfire’s method of rooting the handset. His methods are the easiest, and don’t require entering of any complication commands, which the newbies find difficult. The CF Auto Root is one of the easiest tools to use for any device.
After rooting the phone, you can expect APK and SuperSU binary, giving you complete access to third-party applications. Before following the actual how to steps, make sure you’re not using any other handset except the one for which the tutorial is made for. Make sure you’re using a Windows PC, and have a zip extraction software installed. Enable USB Debugging on your Mako device by going to Settings. From there, select Developer Options and tick the box in front on the next screen. Please also create a round cloud of the important data as anything can happen during such procedures. You should follow the steps at your own risk, as we won’t be liable for any damages if anything goes wrong.
Step 1: Download CF Auto-Root.
Step 2: Extract the downloaded zip file from the previous step to C:\ drive of your PC.
Step 3: Power off the device and restart by holding Power and Volume – keys into Fastboot mode.
Step 4: Attach a USB Cable to your device and connect it to the PC, and wait for the drivers to install themselves.
Step 5: Go to the C:\ CF Auto-Root folder, and open the root-windows.bat file which was the result of the extraction process.
Step 6: Enter any key for the process to start, and don’t panic if the phone restarts in the middle of the process as this is normal. The phone will come into Normal Mode after the process is complete.
Step 7: After the completion of the process, check for the SuperSU app. If it’s not there, install it from Play Store.
